Undergraduate Admissions

The following documentation is required for consideration of admission for all applicants under the age of 20 who are not active members of the United States military and not a transfer student:

  • Official high school transcript or equivalent
    • Home-schooled applicants must show an official document that is equivalent to high school completion and/or may be required to complete GED
    • Rigor of high school academic program and academic performance will be assessed at a 2.5 Unweighted GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale
  • Essay of 300-500 words
  • Two letters of recommendation from a school counselor, teacher, or employer
  • Official transcripts from all postsecondary, accredited degree-granting institutions, if applicable

General Undergraduate Admissions Requirements

The following are minimum academic requirements for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University –Asia applicants:

  • O level: minimum of 5 passes, mostly A and B grades.  O levels are the equivalent of a United States High School Diploma
  • Home-schooled applicants must show an official document that is equivalent to O levels and may be required to complete the International GED
  • A level:  in addition to 5 O level passes, at least two A level passes
  • International baccalaureate: 5 and 6 results, total 28-30
  • Polytechnic Diploma program completion in any discipline with a minimum Grade Point Average of 2.0 on a 4.0 grading scale
  • Some University:  2.0 on a 4.0 grading scale

Applicants under the age of 20

  • Certified O level examination results or equivalent, ITE transcript or International GED test results
  • Essay of 300-500 words
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • SAT or ACT are optional, but are recommended

College courses completed as dual enrollment, while concurrently enrolled in high school, do not qualify applicants as transfer students. 

The university expects all applicants to have completed by high school graduation the following course work, at a minimum:

  • Four years of English
  • Three years of mathematics, including Algebra I or Applied Math I & II, Formal Logic or Geometry
  • Two years of history or social science
  • Two years of science in at least two different areas, with at least one lab experience

Admission into some degree programs may require an applicant of any age to have a higher GPA and/or meet other special requirements.

Applicants age 20 and over

Applicants age 20 and older who are not classified as a transfer student or have not served in the military must provide the following documentation:

  • Official high school transcript or equivalent (GED) with a 2.5 Unweighted GPA or higher assessed on a 4.0 scale
  • Official transcripts from all postsecondary, accredited degree-granting institutions attended, if applicable 
  • Resume
  • Certified copies O/A level results or equivalent, International Baccalaureate transcript from Organization Headquarters, Official Polytechnic transcripts, or Technological Institute or University or international GED test results
  • Essay 300-500 words
  • SAT or ACT are optional, but recommended
  • Civil Aviation Authority Certificates if applicable CV if applicant has an employment history in the Aviation industry
