B.S. in Aviation Maintenance Science to M.S. in Aviation

This program is for exceptional students committed to continuing their education through the Master's degree. This fast-paced program allows qualifying students the opportunity to complete both the Bachelor of Science in Aviation Maintenance Science (BSAMS) degree and the Master of Science in Aviation (MSAV) in five academic years.

Upon completing the BSAMS requirements, the Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Maintenance Science will be conferred, and students will be enrolled in the MSAV degree. In any graduate course taken by an undergraduate student, a grade of "B" or better must be earned. If a grade of "C" or "F" is earned in any of the MSA courses taken in lieu of the undergraduate courses in the BSAMS degree, the student will be removed from the MSAV program and may continue to complete the BSAMS degree only.

If the student chooses to leave the program before the completion of the MSAV program and has acquired the minimal hours required for graduation with the B.S. in Aviation Maintenance Science, any MSAV transition courses used to meet graduation requirements will be noted as undergraduate courses for the purpose of graduation.

Approved Courses for the Combined Option

Students enrolled in the combined option must consult their academic advisor and the MSAV program coordinator to determine appropriate course selection. Up to three 500-level graduate MSA courses may be taken and will replace an equal number of undergraduate Area of Concentration courses or Upper-Level Open Elective courses in the BSAMS degree.

Students must fulfill the required MSAV core classes and any remaining courses from the transitional period that have not been completed.

Suggested Plan of Study

Accepted students for the BSAMS to MSAV program can take up to three (3) MSA courses in lieu of an equal number of undergraduate Area of Concentration and/or Upper-level Elective credit courses. Before selecting the three MSA courses, students must confer with an advisor to ensure that the MSA courses selected are compatible with their BSAMS Area of Concentration and that they are in alignment with their chosen MSAV specialization.

A course grade of "B" or better must be earned on all graduate-level courses to be considered as satisfactory progress toward the MSAV degree. If a grade of C or F is earned in any of the MSA courses approved by the MSAV Program Coordinator, the student will be removed from the program and allowed to continue his or her education in the BSAMS degree as initially intended.
