Graduation Requirements

Application Requirements

All students must meet the general graduation requirements prescribed by the University and the specific requirements of their degree program. These requirements are not subject to petition or waiver. Students must apply for graduation online through Campus Solutions by selecting “Academic Advising” → “Apply for Graduation.” Daytona Beach and Prescott master’s students must be within 12 credit hours of program completion before applying. Worldwide master’s students must be within 6 credit hours of program completion before applying. Applications expire after one year if requirements are not met; fees are non-refundable. 

Students must apply for graduation and order regalia by published deadlines. Regalia costs are the responsibility of the student and are separate from the graduation fee.

Graduation Honors

Students who have completed a master's degree program and who have excelled academically throughout their graduate careers are recognized through the publication of graduation honors on the transcript and in the commencement program. To be eligible, graduate students must have completed their degree program with a cumulative grade point average of 4.00 based on grades received in all courses at the graduate level.

Daytona Beach and Prescott

The following summary of graduation requirements is provided for all students. An Embry-Riddle master's degree will be conferred upon the successful completion of the general requirements of the University and the specific requirements of the degree sought.

  1. All course, thesis, GRP, GCP and other academic requirements, as appropriate, must be met.
  2. The student must be in good academic standing.
  3. All debts and obligations to the University are satisfied.
  4. The student is not under University investigation for misconduct or other disciplinary matters.
  5. A student must be enrolled in the term in which he/she graduates.
  6. An application for graduation must be initiated by the student and received in the time limit specified by the appropriate campus records office.
  7. Participation in graduation exercises will not be permitted, a diploma will not be awarded, nor a transcript annotated as complete, until all of the degree requirements have been satisfied.
  8. Students may only participate in one ceremony per earned degree and must participate within one year of degree conferral.

Worldwide & Online

Graduate students must complete all graduate coursework through Embry-Riddle, with a maximum of 12 credit hours of transfer work permitted for most programs. A minimum CGPA of 3.00 is required for all graduate-level coursework completed at the University. 

Graduation Ceremony

Worldwide students may participate in any Worldwide graduation ceremony held annually in locations such as Daytona Beach, Germany, Japan, San Diego, Seattle, Dallas, and Norfolk. Students may also attend the Prescott residential campus ceremony but are generally not permitted to participate in the Daytona Beach residential ceremony. Students who wish to participate in the Prescott ceremony must notify the Worldwide Office of the Registrar of their intent via the graduation application. Students may be subject to additional graduation fees for participation in the Prescott ceremony.
