International Students and Exchange Visitors
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is approved by the U.S. government to enroll international students and host exchange visitors. The University sponsors eligible individuals as F-1 students and J-1 exchange visitors at approved locations.
To support international students and scholars, the University maintains required records within the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) and designates trained officials on each campus to issue immigration documents, provide guidance on maintaining lawful status, and answer questions about enrollment, travel, and employment. Students and scholars are responsible for complying with the terms of their immigration status, and each campus has staff available to assist them in meeting those requirements.
F-1 Students
International students studying in F-1 status must obtain a Certificate of Eligibility (Form I-20) issued by the campus where they will enroll. F-1 students must remain enrolled full-time, keep their immigration record up to date, and follow federal regulations related to employment and travel. Exchange Visitors (J-1)
J-1 exchange visitor opportunities are available on Embry-Riddle’s residential campuses in Daytona Beach, Florida and Prescott, Arizona. Form DS-2019 is issued by alternate responsible officers (AROs) and records are maintained in SEVIS in accordance with federal regulations.
In addition to immigration advising, J-1 exchange students receive support through academic units and university offices that promote cultural exchange, including orientation programs coordinated through Study Abroad & Global Engagement.

Daytona Beach Campus
International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) provides guidance and support to ensure that all international students and scholars maintain their immigration status while in the U.S. and maintain an active SEVIS record. ISSS provides services including issuing the required documents to apply for an F or J visa, travel signatures, regulation and employment authorization advising. Additional orientation and engagement programming is offered through International Student Engagement.

Prescott Campus
The Center for International Programs & Services (CIPS) provides guidance and support to ensure that all international students and scholars maintain their immigration status while in the U.S. and maintain an active SEVIS record. CIPS provides services including issuing the required documents to apply for an F and J visa, travel signatures, regulation and employment authorization advising, orientation, and ongoing transition and engagement programs. CIPS collaborates with International Admissions and ISSS on processes that require cross-campus coordination.
