Time Limit for Degree Completion

Students Earning Two Master’s Degrees

A student who completes an ERAU master’s degree and maintains continuing student status may add another ERAU graduate degree program. The expected completion time for the second master’s degree is three years, beginning with the start date of the first course enrollment after the add-a-program request date.

Readmission into a Master’s Program

When readmitted to the University, the time limit for degree completion begins with the first course enrollment after the most recent admission.

Exceptions to this policy are not permitted except for military students readmitted under the provisions of the Higher Education Opportunity Act. 

Daytona Beach and Prescott

Students admitted to master’s degree programs at the Daytona Beach and Prescott campuses have seven years from the date of matriculation to complete all degree requirements.

Embry-Riddle courses older than seven years at the time of graduation may not be applied toward the program of study, although prerequisite courses are exempt from this limitation.

Transfer courses older than seven years may be accepted at the discretion of the appropriate program chair.

Students who do not maintain continuous enrollment, defined as missing enrollment for two years, must apply for readmission to the University; however, the seven-year completion period is still measured from the original matriculation date.

Worldwide & Online

Graduate students enrolled through Worldwide campuses are expected to complete their program of study within three years from the date of initial course enrollment following admission to the University. This expectation applies regardless of degree changes, catalog changes, or campus changes. 

Upon matriculation, students are expected to maintain degree progression throughout their academic careers. Students shall successfully complete 15 graduate credit hours per year. The 15 credit hour calculation will be measured on each annual anniversary of a student’s matriculation and will include all activity in the previous 365 days.

If a student reapplies for admission, the three-year period begins with the first course enrollment after the most recent admission.

Graduate coursework remains applicable for seven years.

Students who do not maintain continuous enrollment, defined as missing enrollment for one year, must apply for readmission to the University.
