Minor in Science Literacy
The Minor in Science Literacy equips students with the critical tools to identify, understand, evaluate, and communicate scientific knowledge in an increasingly complex and technologically driven world. Drawing on interdisciplinary coursework, the program emphasizes the evolution of scientific thought, the importance of credible evidence, and the role of emerging technologies—including artificial intelligence—in research and discovery. Students will develop the ability to assess the reliability of scientific sources, engage with contemporary global issues through a scientific lens, and communicate findings to expert and non-expert audiences alike. The curriculum promotes responsible and ethical approaches to inquiry and highlights how science both shapes and is shaped by cultural, technological, and societal forces.
Some majors may not be eligible to pair with this minor. See the Minor Restrictions list for details.
