All credit-bearing courses are counted toward the student's academic load for the term.

Undergraduate Students 

  • A minimum of 12 credit hours during the fall or spring semesters constitutes full-time enrollment.
  • For summer, 6 credit hours constitute full-time enrollment.

Maximum Undergraduate Load

  • The normal maximum undergraduate load for residential campus students is 16 credit hours during the fall and spring semesters; 9 credits during summer A, Summer B and Summer C sessions.
  • Students may register for an overload for a maximum of 18 credit hours if they meet the following criteria:
    • Have completed at least 27 Embry-Riddle credit hours.
    • Have a cumulative Embry-Riddle GPA of 3.00 or higher.
    • Have received written approval from an academic advisor.
    • Additional approval from the department chair or designee may be required for overloads.

Tuition Implications 

  • Residential campus students registered for a maximum of 18 credit hours in a fall or spring semester may be eligible for block tuition rates with no additional charge, provided CGPA and credit completion requirements are met.
  • Fall and Spring block tuition eligibility is recalculated at the end of the current semester for registered students, and adjustments may occur if CGPA or completed credits change.
  • Summer semester: Courses are charged per credit hour.
