English Language Requirements
Instruction of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University courses takes place in English. Applicants for whom English is not the primary language must demonstrate proof of English Language proficiency. Students must meet the minimum language proficiency criteria to be admitted and can submit documentation to verify proficiency from one of the sources listed below.

Students may also demonstrate English Language proficiency by completing 6 credit hours of postsecondary English Composition coursework with a grade of ‘C’ or better from an accredited degree-granting institution, prior to matriculation.
Students scoring below the preferred score can consider enrolling in the Embry-Riddle Language Institute (ERLI) offered at our Daytona Beach. Admission to ERLI does not guarantee admission to an Embry-Riddle degree program. For additional details, visit the ERLI catalog page. Applicants who successfully complete Embry-Riddle's Language Institute (ERLI) and receive a Recommendation for Academic Study from the ERLI Director may be exempt from the TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo, Cambridge, Pearson PTE Academic, LanguageCert Academic, or EIKEN exams.
