At the Worldwide Campus, the Bachelor of Science in Technical Management allows students to select a major to align coursework with specific career fields. Available majors address topics relevant to managerial roles in technical and data-driven environments. Options include Aviation Management, 21 credit hours; Business Cybersecurity, 21 credit hours; Human Resources Management, 21 credit hours; Leadership, 21 credit hours; and Technical Management, 21 credit hours. The Bachelor of Science in Technical Management is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). Courses within the program are accredited by the Project Management Institute (PMI), and security courses are accredited by the National Security Agency (NSA).

Program-Level Student Learning Outcomes

Students will:

  • Use established methodologies and standards to critically evaluate business functions and processes, identify needs, and structure business approaches.
  • Describe key principles of business and management disciplines and their business applications, including the possible interrelationships to technical management practices especially in the field of aviation and aerospace.
  • Employ supervisory and management skills needed to effectively lead and support others within a team environment across business functions.
  • Apply a research skillset to solve business problems and communicate the results effectively.
  • Solve problems related to the specialty areas of aviation management, business cybersecurity, human resources management, or leadership and their interrelationships to business and technical management practices.

Program Details

The Bachelor of Science in Technical Management requires successful completion of a minimum of 120 credit hours. Students enrolled in the Worldwide Undergraduate Online program may complete the degree in 20 terms, or approximately four years, assuming full-time enrollment and continuous progress. Students pursuing this undergraduate degree must earn a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.00 for all work completed at the University. The courses required to earn this degree are listed below.

Students should be aware that many courses have prerequisites and/or corequisites. Students are responsible for ensuring that all prerequisite and degree requirements are satisfied prior to enrollment in advanced coursework. The suggested plan of study is provided as a guide. A student's actual plan of study may vary based on term of admission, course availability, transfer credit, and other academic considerations. Students should consult with their academic advisor to develop an individualized plan of study.

Students must complete one of the following majors: Technical Management, Aviation Management, Business Cybersecurity, Leadership, or Human Resources Management. Students may apply eligible technical transfer credit toward the degree, where applicable. If technical transfer credit is not awarded, the required credit hours must be satisfied through an approved minor or management electives at the 200-, 300-, or 400-level. Open electives may also be used to complete approved minors in consultation with an academic advisor while satisfying degree requirements.
