Student Financial Services
Student Financial Services supports both U.S. and international students (including eligible students assigned to overseas U.S. military installations in Europe/PACOM) by providing guidance on tuition, billing, payment options, financial aid, scholarships, and financial planning. Our goal is to help students understand their financial responsibilities, explore available resources, and make informed decisions throughout their academic experience.
Tuition and Estimated Costs for United States/OCONUS Military Sites
At the time of acceptance for admission, a University account is created for every student. This account remains open until graduation. The primary use of this account is for University charges and payments. If an account has a credit balance, the student may request a refund or transfer to their flight account, if applicable. All students are strongly encouraged to enroll in eRefunds. This allows refunds to be deposited directly into a checking or savings account. We advise all students to open and maintain an account at a local bank for personal matters.
Electronic Communication Policy: Students registering for classes or obtaining other goods and services provided through Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University are advised that the Student Financial Services office provides all financial account information using the Campus Solutions Student Homepage in ERNIE. We also send you important notices via your ERAU email account. It is your responsibility to review your ERAU student account status and email account weekly and make payment arrangements by the published due date.
You will need to contact the Student Financial Services office in writing if you choose not to have your accounts receivable charges paid with your financial aid disbursement. However, this may delay your disbursement. If you are receiving an institutional loan, you are obligated to repay the amount of your loan in accordance with the terms outlined in your Promissory Note.

Delinquent Accounts
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is a not-for-profit institution of higher learning. As such, student receivable accounts are considered to be educational loans offered for the sole purpose of financing an education and are not dischargeable in bankruptcy proceedings.
When a student’s account is delinquent, the student is notified via email to their ERAU email address. A delinquent student account may result in suspension of all academic processing and information on class performance. Grades and diplomas may be withheld, as well as future enrollments. Sums remaining unpaid will be charged interest at the maximum rate allowed by law. The student is also subject to the costs of collection, which may be based on a percentage at a maximum of 33% of the debt and will be added to the student's account balance. In addition, all costs and expenses, including reasonable attorney’s fees we incur, will be passed on to the student.
Deferments and Third-Party Sponsors
Students who use financial aid to pay their university charges must have the financial aid in estimated status by the payment deadline to qualify for a payment deferred. Any difference between the total charges and the estimated aid must be paid in full by the published deadline.
Students whose tuition and fees are paid in full or partially by a third party (Foreign Embassy, U. S. Government, private company, etc.) are considered sponsored students. Appropriate/approved documentation should be submitted to Student Financial Services prior to payment deadlines; Veterans benefit recipients should contact Veteran Student Services for benefits.
Current students can click here for detailed information on deferment options, including third-party sponsors.
Books and Supplies
Residential students may purchase books and supplies from the University Bookstore at each campus. Worldwide students may purchase books through the online Bookstore. Students whose anticipated financial aid is higher than the total amount due for tuition and fees may use their excess financial aid to purchase books until the aid is disbursed.
ROTC students who receive a book stipend may charge books to their student account and will be responsible for paying the book charges. Please note the ROTC book stipend is sent directly to the student.
Housing and Food
Housing and food plans are required each semester for 1st and 2nd year students attending a residential campus. Costs associated with housing and food should be used when estimating the annual cost of attendance.
All required students must complete a housing application and pay a housing deposit to receive a housing assignment. The housing deposit will remain on file and is viewable in the ERNIE Wallet until released by the Housing. Once released, if any balance is owed to the University, the deposit will be applied, and any excess will be refunded to the student.
Please refer to the Terms and Conditions in the housing contract.
For more information on requirements, costs, and possible exemptions, please refer to the appropriate campus below:
