Daytona Beach Program Requirements

For exceptional students enrolled in either the Master of Science in Aviation Finance (MSAF) program or the Master of Science in Data Science (MSDS) degree program, the David B. O'Maley College of Business and the College of Arts and Sciences offer the opportunity to simultaneously pursue the corresponding dual MSAF/MSDS degree.  

For a student in the MSAF applying to the MSDS Program

With this option, the business student will take a total of 33 credits to obtain a Master of Science in Aviation Finance (MSAF) and an additional 21 credits to obtain the Master of Science in Data Science (MSDS) degree. Nine (9) credits from the MSAF degree will count towards the MSDS’s total requirement of 30 credits. Bridge classes (ACCT 517, MKTG 515, FINE 520 and ECON 523) will replace elective classes in the MSDS program business track. The student must declare their interest in the combined degree at or before completing 15 credits in the MSAF program. Graduate students may apply to the Dual MSAF-MSDS option by submitting an application to the MSDS program coordinator. Students must have completed up to 15 credit hours toward the respective MSAF degree and must have a 3.0 minimum GPA to be admitted to the dual degree program. Students will be dropped from the program if their GPA falls below 3.0.

For a student in the MSDS applying to the MSAF Program

With this option, the MSDS student will take a total of 30 credits to obtain a Master of Science in Data Science (MSDS) and an additional 24 credits to obtain the Master of Science in Aviation Finance (MSAF) degree. Nine (9) credits from the MSDS degree will count towards the MSAF’s total requirement of 33 credits. Bridge classes (ACCT 517, MKTG 515, FINE 520, and ECON 523 or electives taken during the MSDS study program) will replace core or elective classes in the MSAF program, depending on which classes are taken and as determined appropriate by the MSAF program coordinator. The student must declare their interest in the combined degree at or before completing 15 credits in the MSDS program. Graduate students may apply to the Dual MSDS-MSAF option by submitting an application to the MSAF program coordinator. Students must have completed up to 15 credit hours toward the respective MSDS degree and must have a 3.0 minimum GPA to be admitted to the dual degree program. Students will be dropped from the program if their GPA falls below 3.0.
