B.S. in Aerospace Engineering to M.S. in Aerospace Engineering

This program allows the exceptional student to complete the Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering (BSAE) and Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering (MSASE) degrees at the Daytona Beach campus.

The program aims to produce graduates who are prepared for further academic study at the doctoral level and for leadership positions within the Aerospace industry.

In any graduate course taken by an undergraduate student, a grade of “B” or better must be earned. These credits will count toward the B.S. and M.S. degree requirements, provided the student maintains enrollment in the combined program and receives a "B" or better in the courses. These credits will not be part of the master’s transcript until graduation, at which time they will also be applied to the MSASE degree.

The Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering will be conferred upon completion of all bachelor’s degree requirements listed in their catalog. The student is then formally matriculated into the active catalog’s MSASE program. The master’s degree will be conferred upon completion of all master’s degree requirements listed in their catalog.

Early admission to the Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, i.e., after the B.S. or during the M.S. studies, is possible for exceptional students. In these cases, both M.S. and Ph.D. requirements need to be fulfilled, and both degrees will be awarded upon fulfillment. Also, the rules for an accelerated M.S. degree apply to these Ph.D. students because they are fulfilling their M.S. degree requirements.

If the student chooses to leave the program before the completion of the MSASE program and has acquired the minimal hours required for graduation with the B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, any MSASE transition courses used to meet graduation requirements will be noted as undergraduate courses for the purpose of graduation.

Approved Courses for the Combined Program

Students enrolled in the combined option must consult their academic advisor and the MSASE program coordinator to determine appropriate course selection. Students will take up to six credits to replace an equal number of Technical Elective courses in the BSAE degree. It is recommended that one course be selected from the student’s chosen MSASE Area of Concentration’s core courses and the other a graduate-level Mathematics course. Combined Program Requirements

Students must fulfill the required MSASE core classes and any remaining courses from the transitional period that have not been completed.
